Clearing the Browser Tabs – Tales of Socialist Repression Monday Edition Posted: 25 Apr 2011 03:10 AM PDT Just when you feel it’s safe to look at the amazing level of free speech and freedom of religion we have here in America and think it common, you find a story that disabuses you of the notion as surely as a bucket of cold water disabuses you of drowsiness. The Chinese government broke up a public church service on Easter Sunday because the church was not sanctioned by the government. It was part of a broader crackdown on unsanctioned churches around the country. You can imagine the sort of gospel a church under the thumb of a repressive socialist government would and would not be allowed to preach. I hope we Americans never have to find out by direct experience. And now, links.
