Clearing the Browser Tabs – Finally, A Slow Weekend Monday Edition Posted: 18 Apr 2011 03:10 AM PDT Thankfully, this weekend was fairly slow, at least on the news wires. I needed the break, what with the bonus podcast I did Friday and the daily Clearing the Browser Tabs posts that ended up being just a teensy bit longer than I intended them to me. I spent the time cooking up new deviltry for the podcast and blog, including some very good work on a coming weekly e-mail newsletter you’re going to want to get once I roll it out. I’ve also got a couple ideas for the fundraiser I have going for The Delivery (you have made your own Delivery there, yes?). I won’t say exactly what you might find about that here later in the day, but there might be a few little goodies of the audio variety in store for those who take part. And now, links! I’m pretty sure I should just put Jonah Goldberg and Mark Steyn in this roundup every Monday. Their columns are always good morning reading. I don’t remember how long ago it was, but in a conversation I named our leader President Whatever. I wish I had written it down so I could point to this Michael Barone column and tell you all how smart I was back then (via Instapundit). If those folks on the left who about two weeks ago were hooting about how they ran Glenn Beck off of Fox News has any integrity at all, they’d issue a few very public apologies right about now. If you ever wondered why the notion that the progressive left is interested in reasoned debate is laughable, take a look at this video wherein the cream of the left-wing crop in Wisconsin proudly hurl racist epithets at a black Tea Party member. So, wait. Democrats are actually trying to enlist the very man they castigated for the horrific abuses at Abu Ghraib to run for the Senate under their banner? Well, that’s…confusing as hell. Boy does the President talk tough when there’s no chance anyone can actually contradict or challenge him. He’s also just a bit of a bully.

The Delivery Presents – Bonus Friday Caring with Kurt Posted: 17 Apr 2011 04:18 PM PDT Special Bonus Friday Episode 89 turned out to be everything I thought it would be when I asked Kurt Schlichter to come on the show with me — funny, smart, and wickedly cutting. We talked about John Boehner’s budget deal, the slide of America into today’s modern welfare state, and the origin of the Community Gruel Pot. We spent the second half on movies, as is frequently our wont. Specifically, I started out with Kurt’s post at Big Hollywood on his ten best movie opening sequences and went from there. There was much talk about a few movies that had been left off the list, which may well inspire him to write an 11-20 list. I sincerely hope he does, because there are few people on the web who write as well about and with such enthusiasm for movies as Kurt. We’re about to enter the second week of the fund raising drive where you can “Deliver for The Delivery”.
