Clearing the Browser Tabs – The Conservative Commune Launches Monday Edition Posted: 20 Jun 2011 06:10 AM PDT My friends Joy McCann (of Little Miss Attila) and Dan Collins (of Piece of Work in Progress) have teamed up to create a brand new website for conservatives-minded folks called The Conservative Commune. It is a site that will not only have all the trappings of a blog — news and commentary, video content, and podcast links — but also several things we’ve sorely lacked on the right. Their intention is to create a place where creative right-leaning folks can sell their wares and services, meet other conservatives, arrange meet-ups and ride-shares, and enjoy a safe and supportive environment that will give them a respite from a world often hostile to their point of view. Dan and Joy are good folks, wickedly creative, and determined to make something real and lasting out of The Conservative Commune. I like the idea and hope that at some point I can contribute in a big way. Be sure to check it out and add it to your bookmarks and feeds. And now, links. William Jacobson finally fled the confines of Blogger and launched a lovely-looking new site. Do check it out and change all your bookmarks and RSS feeds. What would Kurt Schlichter sound like if he was a typical left-wing attendee of the Netroots Nation convention? It’s not pretty at all. But what else can you expect of people who believe that throwing glitter at a politician is a brave political protest? Troglopundit has fired up the Automotivator-inator for another week. Lawrence Meyers should be ashamed of himself. It’s not nice to pick on differently-abled people like former Labor Secretary Robert Reich. Also check out the latest in his review of James Bond movies; this one on The Man with the Golden Gun. Moe Lane is right — more than one head needs to roll because of Operation Fast and Furious. I meant to get to this yesterday, but other events overtook me. Here are a couple excellent Father’s Day remembrances from Val Prieto and my friend Susan at her fairly new blog. Moe Lane, on the other hand, could use a do-over. Herman Cain spoke at the Right Online conference this weekend. But the real news happened when he gave an impromptu presser during which he delivered a polite but firm rebuke to a Soros Monkey who tried to play a little “gotcha” with Cain.

MSM Takes on Michele Bachman over…Her Foster Children. Posted: 19 Jun 2011 07:19 PM PDT What insightful question did CBS News have for Bachmann? Did their ace dig into one of her policy position on energy independence, taxation, the relationship between government and business, foreign policy Heh. No. Of course not. CBS News sent a reporter to ask whether or not she and her husband really did raise 23 foster children. The question that CBS wanted her to answer, for the edification of the American public mind you, is how she defined “raise”. I’d link the video, but CBS, in an effort to be a transparent and open media news outlet has disabled embedding so that I can’t share it with you. You’ll have to clink the link and watch for yourself. Actually, no. You don’t have to watch it for yourself because I’m not going to link it. I’ll link to Jim Hoft’s post, where you can find a link to the video if you like, and I’ll link to Stacy McCain who restrained himself mightily about the lapdogs at CBS, but I won’t link the video. Why on Earth should I give CBS any hits? It has earned no reward for its lazy attempt to gin up another controversy against a Republican while it’s not lifted a single finger to learn anything about the past of the man who has occupied our White House for 2 1/2 years. I know I go on sometimes here about media bias, but it’s almost impossible to consider this as anything but. There is no chance a Democratic woman would have to field questions about how good — or how long — she was a mother, yet Republican women endure them regularly. Andrew Sullivan has yet to be upbraided for his years of ridiculous speculations about Trig Palin’s parentage; in fact, he was rewarded a better gig at The Daily Beast. Now, Michele Bachmann must deal with this not even a week after she showed she might be a contender for the GOP nomination at the second debate. It’s disgusting and we ought not stand for it.
