I might well write more about it later in the week once I’ve digested it a bit. I will say that I found something in there about how we treat men when it comes to fathering children — not the raising of them, but the conceiving of them and the responsibility for them before they are born — the author may not have intended. Legal abortion has taken a horrible toll on this country, not only in slain human beings but also in how it has detached men from any control over the human legacy they will leave when they die. Ah, well. Troglopundit has laid out the welcome mat. I do love it when a former Thatcherite decides it’s time to deliver another lesson in conservative realism. I’m sorry Newt Gingrich’s campaign imploded so quickly. I had hoped it would last a while, not because I thought he had a prayer of winning, but because Newt is a fount of interesting and innovative political ideas.
