Clearing the Browser Tabs – Oh Canada Wednesday Edition Posted: 04 May 2011 03:10 AM PDT For the first time since its founding in 2003, the Conservative Party of Canada now holds the majority of the seats in the Canadian Parliament. Michael Barone has a very good summary of the results and a few thoughts on how Canada voted in the first clearly conservative government I can recall in my lifetime. The other interesting result of the election is that the Bloc Quebecois separatist party is essentially done as a political power in Canada. I’m sure it will continue to exist for a few hardliners here and there, but it seems to have been absorbed by the more or less liberal New Democrat party. As of now, though, Canada is essentially a two-party nation and the conservative have firm control. Democrats in America should take note. Last night’s show went swimmingly — all Osama bin Laden, but a couple different variations on the dead terrorist theme. The announcement post will be out a bit later in the morning. And now, links!
