Clearing the Browser Tabs – A Good Man Needs Our Help Wednesday Edition Posted: 13 Jul 2011 03:10 AM PDT The best part of my affiliation with FTR Radio has been that I’ve gotten to know, and become friends with, the fantastic people who run the company. They are great conservatives, but more importantly, they are good, honest, kind-hearted people who deserve every possible success. Tom LaDuke is one of those good people and I’m glad to call him my friend. But he’s fallen on hard times recently. His mother has been in the hospital twice for brain surgery and he’s been helping her with the bills. He was recently laid off from his job and, shortly thereafter, his mother’s car broke down in a way that makes rows and rows dollar signs appear in the mind of even the most honest mechanic. He’s in a hard way right now and can use our help. If you have a few bucks to spare — and believe me, I know the economy hasn’t been easy on any of you — it’d be a find thing if you could send a few bucks to Duke. Even five or ten dollars will matter, especially if a whole host of people decide to kick in. If you don’t have the cash to spare, do what you can to spread the word on Twitter, other blogs, Facebook, even face to face. Maybe a friend who isn’t plugged into the blogosphere will give you a few bucks you can drop in Duke’s tip jar. I don’t know exactly how much he needs, but if he’s out of work, let’s just assume the number is large and match it. So hit his site and share the blessings The Almighty has given you. Let’s see if we can’t do something really cool here over the next couple of weeks. And now, links! I already knew that Jaime Radtke, Republican candidate for Senate in Virginia, was smart and conservative. What I didn’t know is that she also has a pretty keen sense of humor. She’ll do well for the people of her state when she wins next November. Yesterday was the one-year anniversary of the fatwa that drove an innocent American woman who used to be named Molly Norris into hiding. To date, not a single “women’s rights” group has come to her defense nor strongly denounced the Islamist bully who ordered her death. John Nolte is right. The left should be ashamed that two goons like Bill Maher and Piers Morgan felt at liberty to call two powerful and accomplished women MILFs on CNN. However, since they were conservative Republican women, they do not merit the same fierce protections that only left-wing women enjoy. Ron Paul won’t seek a 25th term in Congress in 2012. So…yeah (via memeorandum) I believe that if you lined up all the charts created in the past 18 months that show without a doubt that the Vote Buying Act Stimulus Bill has done nothing at all to help the economy or the still-high unemployment rate…you’d have a very long line (via Instapundit) I’m keenly interested in getting my hands on Iain Murray’s new book Stealing You Blind: How Government Fat Cats Are Getting Rich Off of You. He’s a good guy, and a good writer. The book should be a very interesting read. Mitch McConnell confuses me. Two days ago, he said no serious debt ceiling deal was possible while Barack Obama remained President. Last evening, he tossed out a deal that pretty much gave all the power to raise the debt ceiling to the President and the Senate Democrats.. So…which is it? If you’re a fan of George R.R. Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire series, gird your loins. He told an interviewer that he might not be able to wrap up the series in six books. Vote, So A Kitty Can Get Angel’s Wings Posted: 12 Jul 2011 12:38 PM PDT If you’re sitting at your office today and wondering, “How can I make a splash for my country today”, Mike Flynn has a very good suggestion for you. If you live in California's 36th Congressional district or in one of the 6 state senate districts targeted by Big Labor in Wisconsin, please vote today. If you don't live in one of these districts, but know someone who does, call them and urge them to vote today. These are important skirmishes in the battle for liberty. In California, a woman whose political legacy thus far involves taking money from hard-working Los Angelinos and giving it to criminals (literally!), wants a seat in Congress. She shouldn’t be allowed anywhere near a position of authority. You can send her packing. In Wisconsin, rich union bosses from all around the country have dumped millions of dollars into the state to overturn the results of an election they didn’t like. They have targeted six candidates in particular who, thanks to the state’s open primary system, are running as Democrats but on positions that support more freedom and real accountability to Wisconsin’s taxpayers. If the union thugs win, well, expect Wisconsin to join that sorry group of states that will soon die, sucked dry by the parasites of the left. Despite the historic beatdown we gave their sad ideology in 2010, progressives have not given up the fight. If you are in a position to help them lose today, please do so. And remember, every time a progressive cries bitter tears of rage on election night, a cute little kitty gets angel’s wings. You want kittens to have adorable angel wings, don’t you? Yes, you do. So do what you can.
