Beware the Conservative Ninja Squad!

Posted: 12 Feb 2012 09:53 PM PST

Let’s say you’re a popular left-wing media mogul whose ridiculously well-funded web site has become the essential place to get the current Democrat Party talking points. Let’s also say that you operate in a city run by the Democratic Party where most of the residents are Democrats and have been so since long before you were born.  What would you say might worry you the most if you nipped up to the roof of your own office to grab a quick smoke?

Bird poop? A meteor? Global warming?

How about a right wing death squad?

David Brock was smoking a cigarette on the roof of his Washington, D.C. office one day in the late fall of 2010 when his assistant and two bodyguards suddenly appeared and whisked him and his colleague Eric Burns down the stairs.

Brock, the head of the liberal nonprofit Media Matters for America, had told friends and co-workers that he feared he was in imminent danger from right-wing assassins and needed a security team to keep him safe.

The threat he faced while smoking on his roof? "Snipers," a former co-worker recalled.

And it gets better from there, though by “better” I mean “more embarrassing for those who use Media Matters’ stories like the Catholic Church uses Holy Writ”. I recommend you read the whole thing and keep in mind the three useful points I gleaned from it.

  1. David Brock clearly has not borne up well under the strain of being George Soros’ trained propaganda monkey.
  2. The two most powerful media outfits in Washington, DC have no problem at all passing along left-wing swill as news.
  3. The right has no “message machine” to match what the left has constructed in the last 10 years or so.

The third point may be the most important. The left has built an impressive way of generating and spreading a story through multiple forms of media and  down many levels of government. What is “reported” by Media Matters and Think Progress in the morning end up on the lips of Presidential media flacks, members of Congress, MS-NBC hosts, and state politicians by the time you’ve heated up your lunch. The right has nothing like this. Nothing.

Rush Limbaugh? Fox News? The hundreds of hopelessly disconnected blogs and web sites out there? The Washington Times? The Daily Caller? Yeah, if they’re coordinating, then they need to forcibly overthrow whatever puppet master is at the top of the whole operation because he stinks. We conservatives can’t get behind one Presidential nominee, much less a single daily narrative.

On the other hand, if there really is a right-wing sniper squad, I’m a bit offended I haven’t been offered a spot. I’m a pretty darned good spotter and I’m stealthy, Like a ninja. A conservative ninja.
